Self-concept and Violent Video Gaming as Predictors of Bullying Among University of Lagos Students, Nigeria

اصبح سلوك الإزعاج عقبة في المدارس بسبب زيادة معدل الإزعاج والاستمرار بين الطلاب. كل من الضحايا والجناة معرضون لعواقب وخيمة. لهذا السبب، قامت هذه الدراسة بدراسة مفهوم الذات والألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة كمتوقعين لسلوك الإزعاج بين طلاب جامعة لاغوس، نيجيريا. استخدمت الدراسة منهجية المسح من النوع الارتباطي. كان عدد سكان الدراسة 47197 بينما كان حجم العينة المستخدمة 646. تم استخدام أداة مصممة من قبل الباحثين بعنوان "استبيان مفهوم الذات والألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة وسلوك الإزعاج" لجمع البيانات من المستجيبين. تمتلك الأداة معامل ثبات يبلغ 0.83. تم اختبار كل فرضية على مستوى الدلالة 0.05. أظهرت النتائج أن غالبية المشاركين (64.1%) لديهم مفهوم ذاتي منخفض بينما غالبية (86.7%)شاركوا في ألعاب فيديو عنيفة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، كان التنمر الإلكتروني هو نمط التنمر الأكثر انتشارًا بين المستجيبين، بينما كان التنمر الجنسي أقل انتشارًا. التنبؤ بمفهوم الذات والألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة بسلوك التنمر [F(2,643) = 5.12، p <0.05] ولكن الألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة (β =.167) ساهمت أكثر من مفهوم الذات (β =.052). شاركت المستجيبات الإناث (ֿx̄ = 34.79) في سلوك التنمر أكثر من نظرائهم الذكور (ֿx̄ = 27.43). يمكن الاستنتاج أن مفهوم الذات والألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة هي معلمات من معلمات سلوك التنمر بين طلاب الجامعات. يجب على إدارة الجامعة توفير خدمات استشارية يمكن الوصول إليها لتعزيز مفهوم الذات وتثقيف الطلاب على تأثير الألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة على سلوكهم.
