Abstract

This study examines social cooperation among religious communities in the Kurdistan Region. The method used is a descriptive social survey. The research community includes various religious communities living in Erbil Governorate, such as Islam, Christianity, Kakayi, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Baha'i, Saiba Mandaue, and Yazidi. The community consists of 384 people, comprising 204 males and 180 females. Due to the differences in the characteristics of the study sample, non-probability sampling, specifically quota sampling, was employed. The objectives of the study are as follows: 1) determine the rate of trust among the religious communities within the study sample, 2) discuss the social and cultural aspects of interreligious cooperation within the study sample, and 3) establish the relationship and compatibility between religious communities in the study sample, while also assessing the level of economic cooperation.
After analyzing the data, the researchers drew the following important conclusions: There is a strong level of trust among the different religious communities in Erbil province. These communities consider religious differences when addressing problems, life's secrets, and building social connections. Socially and culturally, the religious communities enjoy positive relationships. There is a spirit of mutual acceptance, and they respect each other's traditions, principles, rituals, and sacred items. This showcases a beautiful culture of mutual acceptance among the communities in Kurdistan. Additionally, there is good social harmony and economic cooperation between the religious communities.
