The Descriptive of Aspect, Its Similarities and Differences with Tense and Mood in Kurdish Language

Abstract

  This research is devoted to the category of aspect, or the emphasis of the state of attention in the uttered situation. Moreover, the similarities and differences with tense and mood. i.e. presenting the grammatical and semantic structure of "aspect" in Kurdish Language. To fulfillment this purpose many features and topics have become the tools of the research. The morphological, syntactic and semantic characteristics of category of aspect based on international principles were highlighted because Kurdish Language is a tense language rather than being aspect, but this does not mean that it is not aspect, this fact has been settled. The reason for indicating this designation is that today languages ​​are analyzed and described to present the items and the verb structures, but discussing Kurdish aspect independently is infrequent, so shaping this study along with some other related topics were considered essential. To conduct this research and accomplish the specified outcomes, descriptive-analysis method has been implemented. Furthermore, to provide the materials and examples the utilized resource and the colloquial language of (Kurdish Language - Central Dialect - Sulaimani Sub-Dialect) have been used. The structure of the study, in addition to an introduction which is a starting point of the research, is divided into three sections. First section is an introduction of aspects and its functioning principles. The second section is devoted to the structure of aspect and its other principles. The last section compares aspect with tense and mood. The study concludes with the most important achieved results and the bibliography.
