Abstract

This research provides a comprehensive analysis of the "Kalila and Dimna" narrative, specifically focusing on the fable of the monkey and the turtle. Within this tale, the monkey and the turtle serve as central protagonists, driving a plot characterized by significant shifts in fortune, tactical maneuvers, and survival. The study highlights the critical moment when a character’s pursuit of an essential need is thwarted by unforeseen circumstances, setting the stage for a narrative filled with victories and losses. The story begins with a young monkey diverging from the guidance of Mahir, an elder monkey who personifies wisdom and experience. Driven by general interest rather than malice, the younger monkey’s trajectory leads to a series of events that test his resilience. A pivotal element of the analysis is the monkey’s escape from a lethal threat posed by the turtle, who attempts to commit an unjust act under a deceptive guise. The research explores how these positive and negative outcomes are dictated by spatiotemporal shifts initiated by the characters.
