The Role of Strategic Orientation in Achieving High Performance
An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Faculty Council Members in Private Universities in Erbil - Kurdistan Region of Iraq

The research aims to determine the relationship and impact of strategic orientation in private universities represented by its dimensions (customer orientation, competitor orientation, technology orientation), on the dimensions of high performance represented by (management quality, workforce quality, continuous improvement, long-term commitment).
The general framework of the research is represented by the research problem, which was identified by raising several questions about the nature of the relationship and impact between the independent variable (strategic orientation) and the dependent variable (high performance). For this purpose, a hypothetical plan was designed from which a set of main hypotheses emerged. In order to verify the validity of the hypotheses, they were all subjected to multiple tests. The questionnaire form was used as the main tool for obtaining data. The research adopted the descriptive analytical approach, as the main and sub-variables were described, and the relationships and influence between the variables were analyzed. The research community was represented by all members of the college councils in private universities in the city of Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, numbering (112) members. While the sample was represented by (65) members of the college councils of private universities. The hypotheses were tested through a set of statistical tests using the computer program (SPSS V.23). The research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is the existence of positive correlations and strong effects between the main and sub-variables, at the macro and micro levels. The research suggested a set of proposals, including the necessity of harnessing the strong relationships between the variables and directing them towards serving the universities under study.
