Cohesive Ties and Their Impact on Children's Story Comprehension

تتناول هذه الدراسة أهمية الروابط المتماسكة في بناء قصص الأطفال وتأثيرها على فهم الأطفال للقصص. وتعتبر البساطة في الاستخدام الكلمات, التعابير, النوع الجمل و النص بشكل العام أحد الشروط الأساسية التي يتم من خلالها التعرف على قصص الأطفال. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد مدى تكرار استخدام الروابط المتماسكة في قصتين للأطفال، وتوضيح تأثير استخدامها على درجة الوضوح والغموض في قصص الأطفال، والإشارة إلى تأثيرها على فهم الأطفال لهذا النوع من السرد الادبي. القصص المستخدمة في هذه الدراسة هما "النوافذ الذهبية" و"الأخ الخنزير" المكتوبتين باللغة الانجليزية للكاتبة لامريكية لورا ريتشاردز. وتعتمد هذه الدراسة على المنهج الكمي والكيفي. هذا الدراسة تعتبر دراسة كمية بحيث تكتشف مدى تكرار استخدام الروابط المتماسكة في قصص الأطفال المختارة. وكذلك هي دراسة نوعية بحيث يقوم بتحديد تأثيرات استخدام الروابط المتماسكة على بناء قصص الأطفال، وعلى عملية نقل الرسائل والمفاهم في مثل هذه القصص. تتبنى هذه الدراسة نموذج التماسك الذي وضعه هاليداي وحسن (1976) للتعرف على الروابط المتماسكة. ومن أهم الاستنتاجات التي توصلت إليها هذه الدراسة أن بساطة ووضوح في قصص الأطفال مرتبطان بشكل أساسي بلاستخدام بعض انواع من الروابط المتماسكة مثل جناس, ادوات ربط المضافة و المترادفات, وكذلك بتجنب بعض الروابط المتماسكة مثل الامتداد، والاستبدال، والحذف اللفظي، والحذف الجملي.
